It is a busy Thursday at the square with people from every corner, I leave my luggage at the train station (helpful machine), try to cover a lot within the day ( Kölsch, Kolumba Museum, Ludwig Museum and Bruder Klaus Chapel), I decided to refresh myself with a cup of coffee at Galestro- Italienische Espresso. Small and neat and well equipped with all the necessity ( newspaper rack, croissant, coffee machine, bar counter and enough number of seating). One leave the shop with a good impression of the vibe, friendly barista/ host with tête-à-tête regulars, spoke multiple language fluently ( German, Italian and English). I enjoy sitting at the bar counter, to catch 10 minutes of warm and coziness away from the cold weather outside, and ready to continue my day with rest of the activities. P/s: on the next day, after the long journey back from Bruder Klaus Chapel, I visited the shop again. It become my gezelligheid and staple, I will go back again the next time I visit Köln.
Poor service. we ordered two cups of coffee and a tiramisu. the waiter comes only after fifteen minutes with a cup. we had to remember for the rest, but it took ten minutes to come with a cold cup espresso....They forget the tiramisu again. I asked another waiter and she was angry and told us that they did not have tiramisu, although they took the order. she said she was the manager and while I was still talking to her, she turned her back to us. she was very unprofessional in front of the other customers. when the first waitress came back, we asked to pay and I asked them why she only took parts of the order. she did not want to speak English and made us fun of other local customers. both they and the company at a table pointed to us and laughed at us when we went. a tourist trap, keep her money and avoid this coffee shop.
I stopped there during a long walk through the koblenz old town to make some photos of the photogenic jesuitenplatz façades. galestro italia offers perfect Italian espresso in a clean and cozy place, with overwhelming music volume, while people watch the pedetsian road.
My man and I had coffee there many times. the coffee is and tees are great and the service is always with a smile. it is the largest place to observe all.
My cucumber and I needed to catch a train, saw one died and had to make a decision. Let's calm down for dieucks or try to find a real place. before the question in our spirit came galestro to us from the sky. the service was amazing, the place was full of smiles and laughing, and even more important the coffee, sandwiches and deserts were amazing. the espresso macchiato was one of the best I ever had. but the tiramisu, cappuccino and tomaten mozzarella panini were also legit af! galestro is a place you would visit and enjoy!
