Sailor Sam - Knysna

I ordered hake and chips, a seafood basket, ten oysters, and three drinks, all for under R370. The portions were enormous; even the kids couldn't finish their meals. The fish was fresh and delicious, and the oysters were impressively large for just R18 each—what a steal! I would have appreciated having an oyster fork, though. The owner was friendly, polite, and welcoming. If you're in the mood for some classic fish and chips, this place is definitely worth a visit. P.S. It's not fine dining, but it's a proper sit-down takeaway complete with wrapping paper.

The atmosphere is cozy, and the owner is incredibly friendly. The food was truly delicious and very affordable. My family and I really enjoyed our experience. I highly recommend this place!

I visited Sailor Sam for lunch based on a friend's recommendation. The restaurant was packed, so we decided to come back for dinner instead. The fish was fresh, the mussels were flavorful, and my son really enjoyed the oysters. The prices were reasonable, and the owner was very friendly.

Value for your money...for sure. Not the bests hake and chips I’ve ever had, but still very good. Service is good and the owner seems to have a story or two up his sleeve.

I bought the R75 combo hake, calamari, 2 × mussels chips with potato salad extra absolutely delicious!!! Owner very friendly helpful. Chatted about the terrible fire touristy things to do in Knysna!!
