Café De More: Coffee Shop, Thomas More College

A special place for a nice cup of coffee and much much more...

The Cafe de More is a coffee shop that is situated in the Robin Savory Pavilion, overlooking Savory Field, with a magnificent view of Durban and the sea, on the grounds of Thomas More College. It is open to the public (visitors must sign in at the entrance gate in Sykes Road) from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm on weekdays, Monday to Friday during school term time and on occasional Saturdays when there is sport on the nearby fields. It offers both breakfast and lunch items as well as great coffee made by the ever-cheerful barista, Moses. It is an ideal venue for meetings as it offers free wifi, there is secure parking on the school grounds, it is easy to access, even if you are in a wheelchair*, and did I mention the excellent coffee? The coffee truly is excellent. There are also plenty of plugpoints for laptops and other electronic devices. Goods are freshly baked on site, and the menu is focused on offering healthy, hot meals that are reasonably priced. There is also always a variety of imported goods on offer, from divine olive oil to various spices, so is a real foodies haven. *For those in wheelchairs it is best to park behind the Great House and use the pathway between the Great House and the Senior Primary Aftercare facility, then turn right at the bottom and you can see the grey roof of the Cafe de More in front.

Fantastic coffee and food with a very friendly smile

What a view! We could see the greater Durban metro with the backdrop of the Indian Ocean. Watching boys cricket and Waterpolo whilst supping our coffee made for a wonderful ambiance. Excellent service with friendly staff and good value for money food. Lovely idea to also have take home meals really works for busy parents. The meals are very fulling and seem to be healthy.
