Salty River Beer House

Restaurant of averages. I drove all the way from Hartenbos to try Salty River Beer House for lunch, but unfortunately, it was an underwhelming experience. Everything about this restaurant screams “average” — from the food to the service to the atmosphere. The staff was unfriendly and seemed rushed when taking our order. To add to the confusion, a second waitress came shortly after and asked for our order again. The starter we ordered was late and arrived with the main course, and to make matters worse, it was cold. The main course was burned, which was unacceptable, especially for the price we paid. Basic attention to detail was lacking: not enough lemon for sparkling water, insufficient glasses for our drinks, and cutlery included only forks—no knives. The signs in the restaurant instructed us to view the menu online, yet the waiter brought physical menus, and the prices didn’t even match the online ones. The overall experience felt chaotic and overpriced for such poor-quality food. The sight of waitresses smoking near the bathrooms was off-putting, and it further sealed my decision not to return. I had considered bringing my family here in the future, but after this experience, I won’t be back. There are so many better options out there. Salty River Beer House needs significant improvements to earn repeat customers. 1/5 Stars

Best pizza in the the Mossel Bay area, and in our travels through the US and Europe!! Every pizza we have tried has been outstanding. Great friendly service and a lovely outdoor area, in addition to memorable food. Nachos were a surprise, not what we have in California but an delicious take on the standard Mexican fare you find in the US. Can't figure out how the nacho chips stay crunchy at the bottom of this dish, but it's wonderful. We've returned so many times, knowing we're going to miss this restaurant the most, when our stay in the area ends.

Quiet green pastures leads you to this gem. I love pizza and I can say this ones was the best I ever had in my life. Crusty thin base with great flavour and the toppings each in its own way made to perfection. That was just one heck of an experience. The staff so friendly and the setting perfect.
