The dishes include the steaming shark head, the alkaline cow with Dong Bo pig and the fried tapioca flour noodles. The Kueh and Dong Bo pig are very well together. The muted shark head took more than an hour, although we were told for 40 minutes. But it was worth waiting. Filled with collagen and herbal soup to warm your stomach, it is not your average dish and not readily available elsewhere. The tapioca flour noodles is a dish from the old days, when rice was expensive and tapioca was a commonly used starch as substitute carbohydrates. This place dries it like KL Hokkien Mee style, but essentially you can do it any style you want, including soup. Very nice. Not in the center of KL so the access is not the easiest. Maybe the prices here are still reasonable. But I think I'll be back for more.
I love the food. The wolfram po meat and squid was delish!
This restaurant, which specializes in Hokkien dishes, seems to be an old hand operated since 1972, probably in the same place. Old pictures on the wall inside seems to share a fair piece of this glory days when it was visited by politicians celebrities. The seating areas are separated into an open air-conditioned room. Sad I feel that the place needs a good upgrade to attract more customers. Eating wise, as it was our first visit, we ordered most of the popular dishes recommended by the lady boss. As a rule, most dishes are unique and different from what we are in KL restaurants, since the dishes are mostly from Hokkien origin. My favorites among the many dishes we ordered were the stirred fried shrimps, fish paste in fish skin, fried tapioca flour noodles Zang Po pork. The fried tapioca flour noodles is similar to roasted Hokkien mee, it is strong, oily fragrant. The fish paste wrapped in crispy fish skin was very good, as the fish paste was tough without a hint of fishy smell. The chili crabs
Dinner was full of cartridges this Sunday night. Simple dinner of tapioca noodles that was fantastic, baby with their special chili sauce and roasted salted chicken. Prices are slightly higher than in the accounts, but what is not. Good place for dinner
Food was good although you have to be a little patient as the food takes a little while to come and it does not come all at the same time.
