This restaurant nestles into the surrounding area, plays 'sounds ' and charges extortionate amounts for food. In fairness, the Gulash Suppe was good but since this is peasant food it needed to be at...€7.50 a bowl. None of the rest of the menu was worth considering as it was overpriced for average fair. There 's no doubt it is a nice place to stop in the sun and spot the nouveau riche of Russia, but for the seasoned skier, expensive and average. Welcome to Kitzbuhel!
We were thirsty after a winter hike when we reached this traditional looking place. It was around 11am and absolutely packed, the only seats we could get were in the bar area. There is both indoor and outdoor dining areas as well. Well the place...was really rocking, loud music and so many people. We only had drinks but the service was friendly and effecient and there was such a fun, laid back vibe. We really enjoyed out time here.
We were looking for a day-long ski. almost passed this place because the evaluation was lower than others, but it was on the pists we were skiing. we were pleasantly surprised with the food quality that is much better than the...cafeteria style eating in many of the other huts. were huge. recommend the goat soup, the rösti and especially the kasespatle spatzli in fried wobble and mountain cheese). the personal was good humorous and attentive.
Here at 11.00 a.m. a day last week for a fast drink. looked at a nice table in the sun, only to the waiter who said it was reserved. no name or time on the reserved sign below. the menus was hidden. moved to another area where we could see the original. No one sat there for the 15 minutes we needed to drink a drink. I think we were weighed and found lacking, didn't look like we were spending mega bucks. when I asked to pay our bill for 3 ski waters, I was told sharp 9,30 euro without service. I have sampled a 10 euro note and waited for my change, much to the chagrin of the waitress, which expects a 70 cent tip for in the grunde 3 glasses squash. then she gave me 50 cent and when I asked for the excellent 20 cent, she was told that she had no change. I wanted me to be fast enough to get 30 cent out of my hand and to demand a euro. among others, I would have liked to leave a tip, but given the lack of service, I really pushed back, traveled into a 20 cent tip! I have never been so badly looked after in an Austrian mountain restaurant. we ate and drank last week in many mountain restaurants and we are always treated with or without drinking money.
Came with a ski group and we had a very angry and screaming waiter, in a group of more than 8, they can have mac and cheese or carving and that's it. then she didn't let us share the bill, so everyone had to pay 27.50 to a person she paid and some were groups of 5 and some were solo. Bad quality eating and very uncomfortable, there are many other restaurants than alternatives.
