It had been a while since I had enjoyed this classic dish. The service was excellent, with polite and friendly staff. I was given the option to sit inside or outside, but chose to stay inside since there were no parasols outside. The roast beef was tender and came with a delicious medley of vegetables, mashed potatoes topped with mushrooms, and a flavorful onion gravy. I was pleasantly surprised to find peppers and celery mixed in with the veggies, adding a unique twist. Personally, I would have preferred horseradish, but overall, it was a very enjoyable meal. I look forward to returning to this restaurant the next time I am in the area.
Wow, I can't say enough good things about this place. The restaurant has always been a favorite of mine, with a great selection of beers and menu options. Last Friday, I ordered fish and chips for my family of four, who are picky eaters. There was a short wait for our order, but I enjoyed chatting with other customers while waiting. The portion sizes were generous, with large pieces of fish and plenty of chips. The fish was not greasy, the batter was light and crispy, and delicious. We even had leftovers for breakfast the next day. I'm glad the Whale and Ale survived the pandemic, they do a great job!
We had a delicious family meal at this English-style pub. The menu offers a good selection of pub foods. The atmosphere is great, the food is fabulous, and the portions are generous. I highly recommend it!
My family and I were in town recently, and we wanted to grab some dinner before heading back to the GTA. We decided on this pub as it was ranked as one of Kitchener's top 3 pubs. This pub was absolutely excellent, it checked all the boxes! It has decor that is typical of any pub, but the food and service was top notch. I can't remember the name of our server, but she was such a delight! She was frequently checking in on us to see if we needed our drinks topped up, and if the food was to our liking. Well the food was delicious and the beer was great too! I noticed halfway through my beer, that there was a crack in the glass. I wasn't upset by this, as this sort of thing happens and can be easily overlooked. I mentioned it to our server, and she took the beer off the bill! She didn't need to do that, but it was definitely a nice surprise! We are a family of 4, and we ate for only $115 (not including tip). Reasonably priced food is definitely a bonus here. Bravo Whale Ale, we will be back!
Love this little pub and staff is always great. This little pub is for family and going out with friends. Plus the food is a amazing too.
