Moxie's Grill & Bar - Kitchener

I love the patio at Moxies. It's a favorite go to spot in the summer for a cold beer with friends or a glass of wine with someone special.

My fiancee and I have been here a few times for date night and always have a good experience. The service is always great and the atmosphere is relaxing.Our last visit we ordered:Bruschetta Chicken EnchiladasPortabello BurgerSticky Tofee puddingThe appetizer we ordered was delicious, the goat cheese and crostinis always put a smile on my face. I feel like they give too much bruschetta or not enough crostinis and goat cheese. The former is likely true as I couldn't eat much more and still have room for my meal.I ordered the enchiladas as they were one of the more calorie wise dishes on the menu and was not disappointed. They had a nice spicy flavor and I couldn't get enough of the tortilla chips that come on the side.My date ordered the portabello mushroom veggie burger and said it had good flavour. She had a mushroom soup for her side and we both enjoyed that as well.For desert the sticky toffee pudding is very dense and rich which makes it a perfect desert to share and have with coffee.I believe our servers name was Jessica but we joked that it was actually Mila Kunis because she sounded just like her. She was a pleasant girl and was quick with banter. She was also on top of things, when my beverage was low she dropped a new one off without a sound. Overall I always have a nice time at Moxies and recommend it to friends or coworkers looking for some place in the area.

I am generally not a big Moxie's fan but decided to take the family and a visiting couple there on Victoria Day Monday for lunch. It was one of the few restaurants that was open and I wanted something more up-scale than a burger joint. Food was excellent, service was very good and the prices reasonable. Partially (maybe) because the restaurant was virtually empty, we had attentive service and a great meal with our group of 7. This changed my opinion of Moxie's and I will definitely resturn but next time for dinner.

We dropped in at Moxies after having been at the movie theatre on Fairway Road. The hostess who initially greeted us was enthusiastic and showed us to our table. Considering it was a weeknight, I was surprised at how many guests there were. I got the impression that this was a good location for a first date, or a spot for the guys to grab a beer and watch some sports on the TVs or for a group of girlfriends to enjoy a cocktail or two. There was such a blend of people on this night. The manager, Darren, ensured that the table we wanted to move to was cleared, as the previous guests had just departed. Our waitress was efficient and make suggestions, but the snacks we chose didn't sit well with me. Next time, we will just stop in for beverages.

I went to Moxie's with my wife for a valentine's day dinner. We had no reservations and the place was full, but we got a table after 5 or 10 minutes in the waiting room. Not a big problem, and we already knew we probably would wait a little. After that they showed us a table and the waiter came to get our requests. The waiter was not very friendly, but not to be unfair he was very polite. The main point that made me not like the place is that we ordered two steaks (same menu option), one medium-rare and the other medium, turns out that mine was rare, and my wife's was well done. In a place that sells cheap food this kind of mistake is acceptable, but when you are paying more than a hundred bucks for the dinner, then you expect your steak to be right. The waiter asked us if it was good or not, but even though that, they should have done right on the first trial. And they made a mistake on both. I would say that the environment is good, the waiters are very polite, but the place is expensive and the food was not worth it.
