They were both made from a light airy, donut base, they looked pretty and unfortunately that's the best thing I can say about them. My mom complained that hers wasn't completely cooked through and the only strawberry part of the strawberry donut was the glaze and maybe the "strawberry" part was only referring to the color of the glaze and not the flavor because if I had not been told it was strawberry I wouldn't know- there is no part of this donut that has any strawberry flavor at all and it's filled with a slightly chalky textured cream that really doesn't impress at $2.50 per donut. The pirate donut had a faint coffee aftertaste but was pretty much the same ambiguous flavor as the other one. I would choose Tim Hortons donuts over these ones. I saw a lot of rave reviews for this place, to these people I would say please try some other places in Toronto- they will widen your horizons and up your expectations. Will not be going back to this place.
Best donuts ever. Friendly staff. New and unique flavours always available. Delicious and addictive! Great local business that suports the community.
I pre-ordered a dozen donuts for Easter weekend (3 different types) and they were all excellent! My only complaint is that I think they should have a separate line for people who have pre-ordered and prepaid for their order. I checked upon arrival and was told that there was only 1 line, so I had to line up for more than 1/2 hour just to pick up my order. Why not have an express line for pre-orders?I'm sure that I will be back, just not on a Saturday.
Lovingly hand-crafted donuts sell out quickly, so if you want any, it's best to get there early in the day. The store closes once they're gone. They also have coffee, though I haven't tried it. We've only bought donuts there once because they're very expensive (about $2.50 each), but they are a better quality than what you get at Tim Hortons or even Krispy Kreme.
The dounts are so good, fresh and a great variety...something for everyone. Its a small place, and may miss it driving by but so worth the visit. You will come back over and over :)
