Przekaż informację zwrotnąBenfica is a nice neighbourhood place for mainly Portuguese men to gather and play cards over a glass of red wine, a cold beer, or an espresso coffee with a shot of brandy in it. It's also a popular place for them to come and watch soccer games on any of the number of TV screens mounted around the walls. However, if you're not a Portuguese man, don't let this be a reason not to come check the place out. These guys mainly keep to the back part of the cafe anyway. The front part of the cafe is set up more like a small restaurant with a menu of fast food items (mostly Portuguese in nature) to tempt you. The ladies on staff are friendly and welcoming, especially Alexandra, who seems to have more energy than most people and who can whip you out a beer or serve you up an espresso almost before you have the words out of your mouth! But the crowning jewel of this cafe is their Friday lunch special. Every Friday, they serve something different, from octopus stew to pork ribs to fresh cod fillets and more, each plate a signature dish from old Portugal. The pork ribs are some of the best I've ever eaten!Service of this special begins at noon and it helps to reserve a plate ahead of time, but if you come around noon without a reservation, you'll most likely manage to get one anyway. But if you wait too long, you may be out of luck because they only prepare so much and once it's gone, it's gone.Prices vary, but if you add a nice glass of red wine (ask for the Lello brand which is not available at the LCBO!) and a tip, $20 will see you through.
We had an order of Nachos and they were ok nothing to come back for but I will say it was better then the chicken fettuccini and kids spaghetti and chicken
On the day we ate here deserved all 5 starsNot sure why such a low rating maybe because is is a chain, BTW.
$3 for a tiny glass of OJAvoid at all costsThe food is mediocre and the pricing is brutal.
