Angel's Family Restaurant - Kitchener

I ordered takeout yesterday around 5pm to be picked up at 6pm. When I got home with the order, I found that the chicken tenders were soggy and the fries were greasy and limp. It was clear that the food had been sitting in the takeout container for a while and was not freshly made. I was very disappointed with the quality.

We were there Saturday night for dinner. My boyfriend had the liver and onions. Which he said were very good. I had their chicken tenders platter. I ordered the bbq baked beans as a side. It came with 2 dipping sauces. My chicken was very tender and moist. However, the batter they use to fry it sucked. It was more like a batter used on fish or shrimp. It even tasted like fish!! Not the normal batter used for deep frying chicken. I can't imagine this is very popular. The service was good. Melissa our waitress said the batter is slightly different because when they use it for fish they add club soda. Big deal. It's still the same basic batter and tasted like fish. IF I go back I will NOT order their chicken.

I was there with a few friends for a lunch meeting and the food is good, prices are very reasonable and the staff is courteous and friendly. Definitely a place to consider when you want decent food and don't want to break the bank. It's unpretentious but good. Will be back.

Been going to Angel's since it was on Highland and followed it over here. Usually pretty good but won't be returning. They have a birthday certificate you can sign up for and have used it a few times. They email it to you and you get a 2 for 1 coupon for the month of your birthday. Now they are quite specific as to what they include and the waitress we had tonight told me it did not include the features items they had that night. As soon as she mentioned that another server came over and corrected her that they were included. Her mood immediately became chilly and she said we could get those items and only a limited number on the main menu. We said we would think about it and she left. We decided to leave and as she saw us leaving I just laughed and said they have too many rules. Once outside my wife said I guess we are never going back there again.
