Take Root Cafe - Kirksville

Rating: 4.8 stars locals had recommended this restaurant to me, and I was happy enough to go for a meeting in the city. It wasn't disappointed. The environment is unique and the concept is even more original. This is the first restaurant I have done so that you can give a donation and list prices to the proposed amount. What a cool concept! For my meal I ordered the chicken Verde, and it was an excellent choice. The Cilantro, Jalapeño and Guacamole were perfectly mixed and combined, and there was really the chicken and sandwich as a whole lot of taste. It is important that none of them were overwhelmed compared to the other two. The roasted wheat bread also filled the sandwich well. Everything seemed very fresh. I'll go to lunch next time I'm in town.

We visited from Saint Louis, here to visit some friends when we made a stop here in Take Root. I was very impressed by the facility, the staff and the food. We had some of the Gnocchi, a spicy chicken taco, French onion soup and some Brussels spits. It was all delicious and would recommend making a stop.

I love the Take Root Cafe!! The atmosphere is amazing, the decor was simple, but beautiful. And the food was fantastic! Your menu offers many vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and milk-free options. I love that they are environmentally conscious: they grow their own fruits, vegetables, herbs and use local chicken. This Pay-what-you-can community cafe is what every city needs. Those who cannot afford to pay for their meal can release their time in exchange for their meals. What a proper concept!

I was in many agricultural and organic places, but not like that. The non-profit model and the possibility to volunteer for your meals makes it a very special place. You can also pay for a future meal if you want! I loved my lunch and the staff was very friendly and efficient. I'm sure when I'm back.

You do a great job sitting in the restaurant so that you have social distance, sanitize your hands when you go and even masks if you have no. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere and look how beautiful my salad is!
