The Pear Tree Inn - Kirklees

This pub didnt look much from the outside, but we didnt know the area and just needed some food. It had some good reviews and looked to have a nice beer garden at the back so we thought we would try it. We sat inside and it wasnt great. It took a while for anyone to take our order, and we had to go and find menus and drinks at the bar ourselves, despite other tables having table service. We were seated in the small dining room at the back, which desperately needs an update! Non of the decor goes together, its all very ugly and shabby. I think it was lilac glitter wallpaper, a bad paint job, and then some old pub style stuff. Just a mess really. So we finally managed to put our food order in, while realising we had made a mistake and hoping that the food would at least be the saving grace, but it wasn't. The chips were the only part I could really eat. The marinade on the chicken gyro wasn't good at all, and really more of an asian style, definatly didnt go with the taziki. The kids meals weren't great and neither was my partners chicken sandwich. I really think this pub would benefit from a re vamp and them actually trying the food. Parking: Small parking area
