Queenie's Coffee Shop - Kirklees

I am unable to provide feedback on the food as we were not able to dine at this restaurant. We visited for lunch on a Saturday and found the café to be about half full. The waitress instructed us to choose a table before placing our order. Upon sitting down, I noticed that the café was unusually quiet, lacking any background noise from the kitchen or conversations among staff. We selected our meals from the menu, but when my husband went to order 2 bacon and brie paninis, he was informed that they were out of bacon. Despite a brief hope that the bacon might be defrosted, it was ultimately unavailable. It was disappointing to find that a café located in the town center did not have such a basic ingredient on hand at the start of the lunchtime service, especially when it is a key component of multiple menu items. This was particularly surprising given the proximity of a Morrisons store just across the street.

This coffee shop is fantastic. The staff are incredibly friendly and enjoy chatting with customers. Service is always delivered with a smile. The prices for coffee are very reasonable, especially for early commuters at £1.20. The quality of the coffee surpasses that of larger establishments found on every street. The cakes from ProperMaid are delicious. The shop is meticulously clean. It's a great place for a quick coffee break or to escape the chaos of the town center. Once you sink into their comfortable green chair, you won't want to leave. If you haven't been, you won't be disappointed.

The staff at this restaurant are incredibly kind and make the whole experience enjoyable. The service is quick, and all the employees are friendly and welcoming. The food is decent, but the standout is the exceptional coffee and fabulous cakes. The prices are reasonable, with discounts offered to students and theater members. The cafe is always clean and well-lit, with the option to sit outside in the beautiful Laurence Batley courtyard during the summer. As someone who works nearby, I often meet friends for lunch off campus at this spot. I can't understand why anyone would choose a chain like Costa or Nero when we have independent gems like this in town. It's one of my favorite lunch spots.

Just discovered today. Great teas, soya milk available for vegans like me and amazing cakes. Very friendly staff and a generous discount for LBT members. Will definitely be back.

Always welcomed warmly, pleasant polite staff, reasonable prices. There is a chilled out atmosphere even during the busy periods. Food cooked quickly but still with attention to detail and quality. The coffees are made to the correct temperature and not scalded like other cafés in the area. The cafe is spotlessly clean and the staff are always dressed in a presentable clean style. Regular customers are obviously known and welcomed back but, new customers feel equally as important. Well done Queenie's, keep up the good work
