I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The person grilling had a poor attitude and even sent me private messages urging me not to come back after I left a minor critique. This reflects very poorly on their business ethics. Horst S.
This place was fantastic! I tried the Rham schnitzel and it was absolutely delicious. I had a wonderful experience at the restaurant; the staff were incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was so...
The Bavarian restaurant is a fantastic spot for enjoying authentic Bavarian cuisine! The portions of Schnitzel are generous (I brought half of mine home), just like I experienced in Germany. The Jaeger Schnitzel features a delightful mushroom sauce on top. The red cabbage was absolutely delicious, along with the roast potatoes. The ambiance is cozy, and the decor transports you straight to an authentic Bavarian eatery. The service is consistently excellent, and it’s nice to see that all the servers, including the owner, speak German, which my husband appreciates since he grew up and worked in Germany for most of his life (as a military brat). An added bonus is that the owner is a talented photographer, and his beautiful photos adorn the walls of the restaurant! Don’t miss this gem of authentic Bavarian cuisine on this side of the ocean!
Second time here, but my opinion has not changed....this place is a little hard to find small parking and a few small steps to get to the door. Small seating area with top curtains and German motifs with a German travel film that plays on a small wall television. The menu is mainly carving (pork or new chicken) and bratwursts. Pages are potato salad, fried potatoes, late zle (small dumplings), red cabbage, sour wort, green salad. Schnitzels are huge and crisp, depending on which type of carving you can have with mushrooms or peppers or onions. Brats are tiny and tasteful. All ducks come with two sides. Bread is served as a free appetizer and the basket contains potato rolls and rye bread. The food is good, not great....my partner and I had a carving plate and a sausage plate on this occasion and we both noticed that the spices were very subdued. Late lice needed salt badly. Blue cabbage really needed more vinegar to beat it. We tried a slice of lemon cake and it was heavenly, light and airy, without being too sweet. Other desserts are strudel (they had expired this night), mousse, chocolate cake and carrot cake. Prices are very reasonable and service is friendly altho a little slow, but this is a small business. The cook, Mr. Horst, visits tables and chats when he can. For two plates, a dessert, a soft drink and a beer we paid $41.20 including tip.
