If you want a great fish and chips dinner along with many other British favorites this is the place to go. The owner is a young lady living her dream of owning a restaurant and she is doing a fantastic job!
Free parking in mall, very clean, sturdy chairs and table. Greeted by friendly server Tina who brought large glasses of water with ice cubes and lemon wedge. The special was 2 pieces of cod with coleslaw and fries, ketchup and tartar sauce and 2 kinds of vinegar. Good value at $14.95. The washroom is a great example of a proper handicapped washroom, which is unusual, especially for a small business.
We have been wanting to try this restaurant out for some time and today we found ourselves in the Kingsville area looking for our spring flower plants and decided to give it a try. We both love good fish and chips and have been know to drive some distances to try out various restaurants featuring this on their menus. Halibut is usually a good and premium fish and today they had this on special at $12.95 instead of the regular price of $13.95 for one piece with fries and a small paper cup of coleslaw. We were surprised to see that the fish came in the form of a squarish piece that was most probably from a frozen prepackaged item. The fries were somewhat over cooked and had a dried appearance. Now everything was pretty good but compared to many of the other restaurants in our area it doesn't rate as high it should. We have had English style fish and chips many times over the years and this one doesn't really come too close.
The pub food at this restaurant is top-notch, with generous portions at a reasonable price. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is welcoming and fantastic!
