The waitress tells me with the wisdom of Mother Don 't Order the Milanesa. Everyone Hates It. Well, that was unusual. I ask Mother what I should order. She suggests a marinated steak. Always listen to Mother. I ordered the marinated steak. Mother was very wise. The steaks at Mexico Lindo are like the awful steaks you get in U.S. Mexican restaurants and in French Cafes in France. They are thin and tough. Shoe leather steaks. This makes for a miserable Milanesa and frankly steak frites are not a very good dish either. When this particular steak was marinated rather than breaded, it was lovely. It was still as tough as a piece of shoe leather, but when you put it in your mouth it tasted great. The rest of the meal was peachy. The tortillas are a definite strong point. Thin, floral but not too floral, sweet, addictive. And they give you a lot of them. (More and more restaurants get chintzy on the tortilla ration these days. The salsa is a NON cooked fresh tasting salsa that actually tastes of tomato as well as the other flavors. My favorite salsas are all the cooked ones but sometimes the fresh taste of mashed tomato is a nice change of paste. (Ok, that last word was a typo. I meant nice change of pace . But nice change of paste makes sense too. The cheese enchilada was fine. (I have had legendary cheese enchiladas elsewhere but the enchilada was only supposed to be a supporting player here anyway. It was good enough. Beans were solid. Rice was actually superior. A lot of places have rice that is either dry or tasteless. This was none of the above. I was glad to have it. Overall, this is a fine place. But I especially like places where the waitress takes charge. The only restaurants where I don 't like the waiters to take charge is in Chinese places where the waitstaff try to steer you away from the exotic protein sources like weird shellfish or odd parts of the animal. I am sick of having to fight anytime I really do want to order kidney. But as long as they are not steering you away from the exotica, waitstaff that steers you TOWARDS the good stuff are very special and to be treasured. Thumbs up.
We ordered food from here through Postmates and the food was absolutely disgusting! The beans were old, the rice was old and hard! We ordered corn tortillas and all we got was flour. Never ordering from here again. It really was horrible
When traveling for work, I have to depend on Yelp for lunch recommendations. I'm sure glad I did on this one. My first judges of a Mexican joint are the chips/salsa and tea. Damned good salsa and fresh tea is a winner every time. I ordered beef fajita quesadillas. The portion size was huge. The fresh guacamole and pico was the bomb. I'll be back next time I'm in town!
I ordered beef fajita Nachos 7.99 on their website, and a Mexican coke 2.50. Got charged 12.66. I guess they charge an extra dollar for getting something that is not considered breakfast. As soon i walked in I didn't get greeted by anyone and there was 3 ladies talking to each other and didn't acknowledge me until I kept staring at them then one woman approached. She was nice, i feel like the fajita nachos were over priced for the amount they give you. The food was 6/10 it wasn't balanced enough for me, instead of using tostadas they should use actual tortilla chips.
I never thought I'd be able to give a Mexican restaurant in Texas a horrible rating. My ticket consisted of 2 wet burritos, a child quesadilla, 4 orders of the taquito plate, and 3 drinks- summing up to 68$. Please be mindful that, on the topic of food, I will post for good food- however this was in fact NOT GOOD! I took my in laws from CA here, and not a single person was pleased. I'm not sure how you mess up tacos, but they differently succeeded in that!
