Oriental Ming Court - Kilkenny

Although lacking in decoration, the Oriental Ming Court excels in delicious food. Every dish was fresh, hot, and incredibly tasty, leaving us satisfied with every bite. The staff were also pleasant and friendly, adding to the enjoyable dining experience.

I often order takeout from this restaurant because it offers excellent value, high-quality food, and the orders are delivered promptly and piping hot.

I started with the won ton soup and my husband had the spare ribs. He enjoyed his ribs, but I was disappointed with my won ton soup. It tasted like oxo beef stock, not the authentic clear soup I was expecting. It also had carrots instead of pak choi, and the won tons were small and lacked meat. At €5.30, it wasn't worth it. However, the shredded beef in the second course was delicious and a good portion, although it was on the expensive side. My husband liked his Szechuan chicken and rice. The chow mein lacked beansprouts, and the prawn crackers, served as a complimentary snack, were fried in reused oil and not very appetizing. Overall, the food had mixed authenticity, but the main dishes were tasty. The restaurant's location in Kilkenny city center was lovely, but the interior could use some updating. The prices were high, with two courses totaling €52 for two people and only water to drink. The service was excellent, with friendly staff.

The food was amazing. While on vacation, we were thrilled to discover this restaurant. The staff was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend it.
