Lyrath Estate - Kilkenny

Afternoon tea where you basically shoved into a room . Served with little to smoke about. Had to ask for additional tea and charged for additional food and coffee. Poor service. Left to your own devices. Not great. They should take a look at The Westbury to see how afternoon tea is done.

Had lunch here on Saturday. The hotel was fabulous and the food was lovely too but the service wasn't great at all . It seems like the staff are not properly trained

Lyrath Estate Hotel is situated in a beautiful setting just 5 min from Kilkenny . The driveway is picturesque, the grounds are well maintained and there is a lot activities to keep you busy. If you are visiting Kilkenny, this is a place to stay. The hotel itself is a beautiful blend between classic and new. The old house is kept in good state with gorgeous high ceiling rooms where you can rest on comfortable seats, have a drink or just read a good book. Make sure you book the spa and therapy pool beforehand as it's very desirable. The service is good, prices are reasonable. Check out the walks around the estate, nice and relaxing bonding with the nature. The estate does need to upgrade its gym and the pool as it takes away from the overall experience. The experience was positive and we hope to be back in near future.

I was invited to a family wedding with my son and grand children it was our first time to Lyrath and I was v impressed by the warmth of the welcome and professionalism of every member of staff I came in contact with especially while I baby sat the children for the evening alone well done non stuffy but luxurious hotel
