Not only did it have great selection of breads, rolls, and coconut biscotti, but it had the best coconut macaroons with chocolate bottoms I could find in Kihei! Since we were still dealing with COVID, only 6 people were allowed in at a time (long line outside but worth the wait), and lots of the treats were bagged in plastic. Be sure and get there early for the best selection. We will be back next year, and I'll be stocking up on the macaroons and bread again!
Since this was my 3rd trip to Maui in 3 months, I decided to bring something different back to my family (I think we all have every Maui T-shirt in existence, ha ha) I grabbed a fresh loaf of Ube (the coolest purple bread ever It was still warm from the oven, and it was DELICIOUS! I also bought banana bread, a coconut pineapple bread and a fresh loaf of seeded bread (Sofia bread and two lemon poppy seed scones. It was all fresh and very yummy and the two ladies behind the counter were a delight, very helpful. Make this a stop on your visit to Kihei, you will be glad you did!
Visited the shop a couple times in early January when I was in Kihei and LOVED the treats they had, with a special nod to the POG bread and especially the Lilikoi Syrup which I brought back home with me and had with some french toast. It's already gone. Absolutely delicious. I noticed that their on-line shop has been suspended (hopefully temporarily I just went on-line to order a couple bottles of the lilikoi syrup and saw this. Here's hoping their on-line store is back up and running soon so I can order some more! I think I'm addicted... :
AWESOME bakery!!! Very clean and inviting. Genuinely European. Although the space is small, it was set up nicely, making it easy to browse their offerings. No espresso, but drip coffee is available. For me, the most outstanding sweet thing I tried was the Hawaiian Bread. It was moist, had the right level of sweetness, and a had a wonderful variety of fruits baked in. Way more enjoyable than say, Panettone. Although it's not shown in my photo, I also bought a couple of spelt rolls, which were fantastic. Maui Bread isn't open every day, so check their schedule beforehand. We will definitely return!!!!
Couldn't get a lot of the things I originally wanted to order because they were sold out get there early! Tutu pele is also only available on Saturdays. The things that I did order, though, are excellent. Service was great too. A must-visit if you're in Maui!
