Gasthof Zum SchÜtz - Kiesen

Wonderful, super friendly, accommodating but not intrusive, great food even if it's simple! More than enough... Very inexpensive

Yet another local restaurant I have visited many, many times. I actually returned there today for lunch to make a couple of pictures for this review. The title nearly says it all : expect a fairly good traditionnal Swiss food. For lunch you 'll always find 3 lunchtime only menu sets, 1 of them oddly way too expensive for what it is (see uploaded picture), and 2 really meant for simple workers to get a full treat for little money. This lunch menu always includes a soup and a salad before the main course, on some (random) days, there will even be a complimentary dessert on top of that. You may also whether for lunch or dinner order from their vast full menu, prices ranging from fair to quite pricy depending on what you order. The short lunch menu offers either half or regular portions. Unless you are really, really hungry, do go for the half one. This place is popular amongst truck drivers (most likely because their parking lot is suitable for trucks), and the portions have been adapted to it. But both blue and white collars visit the place. The regular full menu really offers anything traditionnal swiss (although : not sure about cheese fondue, could be though). The athmosphere in their larger dinner room really feels authentic (and actually is), with ancient doors and wooden structures, as well as old rifles and pictures. But both the deco and the food certainly aren 't fancy, so I don 't think this place is suitable for a romantic evening. On the other hand go ahead if you want a simple fullfilling lunch, or a dinner with family or friends. The food quality varies between rough , good and really yummy , but very good would 've been too much, hence my 'average ' rating. Staff is always very welcoming, but are mostly under pressure due to this restaurant being often full.

I've been in Schütz for ages and it's the same as always. World class! I chose the Wienerschnitzel with fries and it was excellent The schnitzel was pounded very thin and deliciously breaded and so big that it overlapped the plate. I didn't need any mayo or ketchup. The fries were deliciously seasoned, crispy fried, flawless. The mixed, small salad

Ein sehr gutes und sehr Empfehlenswertes Restaurant.Sehr freundliche und gute Bedienung. Wünsche werden rasch erfüllt. Gute Speisekarte sicher für jeden etwas dabei.Die Gerichte sind sehr schön zubereitet und Angerichtet. Es schmeckt auch sehr lecker. Gasthof kann nur empfohlen werden.

Familienessen mit 7 Personen. War super, hat schätzungsweise 30 verschiedene Beilagen, ca. 5 verschiedene Fleischsorten und von allem mehr als genug! Bedienung war gut und aufmerksam. Kann ich sehr empfehlen, grosser Hunger ist Voraussetzung!
