Sakura Sushi - Kiel

All you can eat is as of 17/04/23 26,90€ pro person and comes with one drink inclusive. It is also apparently only on Mondays and Thursdays, I 'd recommend to reserve a table beforehand. We ordered the homemade lime and mint drink, was a bit too sweet for our taste but delicious nonetheless. Service was very friendly and although there was a mix up sometimes they apologized and quickly resolved the issues. Now if you 've never had sushi before, I can see how you 'd rate this place very highly. As someone who grew up in Hong Kong and has had been to multiple restaurants(in Asia and Germany), this one is definitely in the lower category. The menu is definitely designed with a Western palette in mind, nothing traditional about it. The sushi sizes were a bit all over the place, in some cases they were missing fillings that was detailed in the menu. They have very creative sushi combos, like for example Tekka Futo, a maki roll that 's with tuna, cucumber and rocket salad, favorite sushi was the Sake Crunch (crispy salmon skin with cucumber and sesame). The mochi sadly isn 't homemade, you can see the wrapping fold from the packaging from which it came from and since I myself buy them at the local asian store, I know how they taste like and so does my partner. The edamame was unsalted, and I felt like it also came from a freezer package. The veggie gyoza came with a nice sauce, I assume it 's teriyaki sauce? The filling is with glass noodles and I believe spring onions, ginger and carrot. It was delicious. We also very much enjoyed the matcha ice cream. Overall we enjoyed the meal, it was just not to our high standards.

All you can eat on monday and Thursday from 1700 until 2115. Was good amount of food but most of the times not as fresh as expected. Took long time to get service but the environment is very nice and warm and cozy place to sit.

I tend to avoid negative reviews but every now and then an exception is merited. First of all: you wil not get food-poisoning here (just don’t quote me on this), but if your ambition is above and beyond maybe look further. Ordered the deluxe set for two and was quite amazed by the chefs love of surimi (which no proper chef would ever touch) and the affection for heavy rice foundations. Nigiri so heavy it was borderline ridiculous while some of the uneven cut makis were almost completely void of any fish. Everything was for sure edible (with the exception of the fried maki with fishy-tasting salmon) but most amateur chefs could pull this off way better. Well most amateur chefs probably don’t have a silly looking tiny wooden bridge to present their creations on, and thank God for that.

Very good sushi and also delicious other dishes! Here we like to eat. Only with the AYCE we had no such good experiences. Therefore, from our point of view, days other than Monday and Thursday are recommended.

I've eaten and ordered a lot. The food was always very delicious and fresh. The sushi there is, in my opinion, the best you can get in Kiel. Staff also super friendly! Come back!
