Thirsty Mermaid - Key West

We tried to visit Thirsty Mermaid a few times and either couldn't make reservations or it was closed. We finally have the chance to turn on a happy hour. The only reason we weren't for dinner was that we were looking for groupers and they didn't have it on the menu. We drank Cava because we don't drink beer, but it was absolutely delicious. We ordered tuna, Mac and cheese croquettes and oysters. Everything was noticeable. We said we should have eaten here, but next time we'll be safe. What a fantastic place!

Definitely call ahead for a reservation. We didn't and waited 45 minutes. Not a big deal since we wandered the local shops until we were called. You might want to take an Uber but there are metered parking spots in the area. The food was exceptional. Hubs and I had the blackened yellow snapper special and my friend had the fresh sea food tower. The wine and service were fantastic.

What an incredible dining experience. We were fortunate enough to enjoy a meal at this location and it was by far a culinary delight. My husband, who tends to be picky eater at times, stated this may have been one of the best meals he 's ever had! You will not be disappointed, I guarantee it. We started with the bahmian conch salad and for the entree we chose the Pan Sautéed Local Yellowtail Snapper and Seared Diver Scallops. Just wow!

Good food / Bad attitude - stopped in on a Sunday early dinner time.
