The front desk agent was incredibly friendly and surprised us by having an oceanfront upgraded room ready due to my Hilton Honors status. The room was spacious and clean, complete with a nice balcony overlooking the ocean and pools. It featured a small sofa, a dining table, a roomy closet, and a mini fridge. Although the bathroom was somewhat small, it had plenty of towels, a blow dryer, and various amenities. The bed was comfortable, and Chris and I appreciated the coffee machine in the fridge. We decided to rent a cabana at the adults-only pool for the day. The rental included a fully stocked fridge with nonalcoholic beverages, as well as a huge platter of fresh fruit. The cabana was equipped with a comfy sofa, a table, a flat screen TV, and multiple outlets for charging our devices. The service was excellent, with the pool staff consistently bringing us cocktails and food, and there was even a ceiling fan to keep us cool. We spent $539 for the cabana, which covered both food and drinks—a fun but costly indulgence. The hotel's location was ideal, allowing us to easily walk to most major attractions. The on-site coffee shop was charming, and we enjoyed delicious pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and lattes. The front desk accommodated us with a late checkout to help with our transition to the Marriott property we also booked with points. There were minor issues, such as some outlets in our room not functioning and the furniture being a bit outdated, but these were small inconveniences overall. We truly had a wonderful vacation at this hotel. The staff informed us that renovations are planned soon, and they would be thrilled to invite us back to see the improvements. Everyone was friendly, and Chris and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We’re excited to see what the future holds for this hotel and can’t wait to witness the renovations!
This hotel is in dire need of an upgrade and renovation. Firstly, it has an old and outdated appearance. Additionally, one of the elevators was out of order, and the other was barely functioning; it was quite unsettling. My bathroom was particularly unpleasant, with mold covering the bathtub walls. I raised my concerns multiple times, and although they claimed to have cleaned it, it remained moldy and dirty. Given the high cost of staying here, it felt like a complete waste of money. The surrounding areas were also dirty and unsightly. I will not be staying here again.
We had a great time at Casa Marina. The staff across the resort was excellent. Both the breakfast buffet and menu items were delicious. The resort is currently under renovation and will be closed until September, but the rooms will be significantly improved by then. Overall, I would rate the rooms a 3 out of 5.
We wanted to give this place a shot for our honeymoon/babymoon. When we came in the lobby, we were impressed. It’s historic and beautiful, and Patrick checked us in and he was lovely. Our room was disgusting. It was baron, sterile, and immediately we were disappointed. I didn’t walk barefoot in the room. The lighting in the bathroom was terrible. There was a gap in the door to the outside, so people walking by were so loud. The door wouldn’t close unless you shoved it closed. The pool was nice ish, but the water was warm for an 85 degree May pool day. The poolside server criticized our tip, asking if the service wasn’t good enough. Honestly the food was decent, drinks were a little weak tho. We were staying for a week and ultimately switched hotels on day 3. I understand this property is shutting down next week for renovations, but it seems there are updates to the room that could have been done in recent years. Completely unacceptable for an $800 room. The other Curio close by is landslides better.
The location is amazing and the beach and pools are perfect. Food is good but not amazing. Very expensive sandwiches are $22.00! We enjoyed our stay because we chose to make the best of everything. However I will say that the housekeeping (or lack of it) is probably the worst I’ve ever seen. It’s crazy how dirty the lobby bathroom floor is, for example. We didn’t get a full room cleaning for 3 days and had to ask for fresh towels daily. So unfortunate…if this was my hotel I would ensure the cleanliness was top notch, given the price we are paying.
