Przekaż informację zwrotnąWe have never had a more disappointing and awful meal at a high end restaurant as we did Saturday night, July 6, 2024. We had eaten here a year ago, loved it, and were looking forward to a celebratory meal to highlight my opening at a local art gallery. We started with a half bottle of Billecart Salmon Brut Rose champagne for $105 for a half bottle. The 3 oysters we ordered were great. The shrimp tamale was dry and overcooked and the watermelon gazpacho soup was on the verge of being inedible. It was a spicy broth with no substance or watermelon flavor at all; we barely touched it. It was definitely NOT gazpacho. Because the steak we had last year was so good, we ordered the Porthouse steak and rack of lamb two of the most expensive items on the menu. With that we order the Shafer One Point Five Cabernet, half bottle for around $85. The porterhouse steak I ordered medium rare to medium, and my husband ordered the lamb the same. Instead, the porterhouse came medium to well done as was the lamb. The porthouse steak was grisly not at all a quality piece of meat, and very thin. Our waitress offered to have the chef recook at least the steak, which the chef refused to do. Seriously, refusing to re cook a steak that was not properly prepared?? We have never been so offended by such a self absorbed, egotistical chef in this way at an allegedly high end restaurant. We could barely eat the steak and left 75% of it over. We did eat the lamb, though it also was totally overdone and should also have been recooked as well. Our waitress saw for herself how poorly the meat was cooked and offered to comp us the steak dinner, for which the chef told her “no way that was how we ordered it.” She tried to make up for it by giving us a free desert and coffee. Frankly, we didn’t want dessert, we wanted an excellent steak dinner. We also felt rushed as we were informed and kept hearing from various staff members that you had a full house for the entire night. Clearly you had overbooked. The meal itself was disgraceful not to mention the way the restaurant handled the situation. Not only will we never go back, but we plan to let others know how we were treated and how poor the quality of the food was, for very high prices, that we typically are ready for pay for a quality meal and experience. We got neither.
Vintage is one of my absolute all-time favorites! Everything on their menu and every special is amazing! The atmosphere is quite, quaint, romantic, and upscale. The waitstaff is very friendly and professional and chef Rod is amazing! They have a fantastic selection of wines are helpful to pair the best wine with your meal. I love when they run events like Lobsterfest or Trailing of the Sheep. The lunches are also amazing. Hands down one of the best restaurants in the valley.
I feel sorry for Ketchum residents if this is their level of fine dining. Went for lunch. Mediocre food, cute atmosphere. But I felt like I was in heaven's waiting room. Average age was dead. Devoid of a real bar, they just have average wines and beer. Waiters were Average. Would not return if starving.
A friend said we must make a reservation and go to the Vintage. As a “foodie” she was curious to get my take as her brother said it was excellent. We loved it. The service was excellent, the food delicious and the atmosphere exclusive and pleasant. We started with some oysters on the half shell that were very tasty. My ski buddy had the shrimp bisque while I had the cream of asparagus with chunks of blue crab in it. My buddy had the trout which he said tasted more like steelhead but delicious. I had the sole with some nice risotto. The wine list too is very nice. We opted for a nice Pinot from the Willamette Valley. The desserts looked great but we were done. We will definitely be back
Atmosphere 4/55cabiny feel that was overwhelmed by LOUD customers.Food 3/5. Soups were very tasty. Especially the asparagus soup. Butternut squash soup was ok.Duck was pretty in presentation but very dry and the sauce very vinegary. Bummed about that. The lamb was good. But not exceptional.Dessert. We ordered the Mexican chocolate with cinnamon. Delicioso.Service was kind and sweet. Very good.
