Cafe Kirkeladen - Kerteminde

We had a very nice lunch and can highly recommend this establishment. It is even worth to take a detour and sit in the nice garden.

We recently visited Cafe Kirkeladen with a large family group (16). This was a large group for the restaurant, but to be fair they did their best to accomodate us on a pleasant long single table. If this is your first time in the area then I can recommend it for classic simple Danish cuisine. However, the problem is that the menu just hasn 't changed in the last 2-3 years! We have local Danish family and I was very disappointed to see that this year 's menu appeared exactly the same as last years! Also, those that ordered steak were not asked how they would like it done and when we asked about this the response was we cool all steaks to medium ! In addition we ordered two bottles of sauvignon and were brought two bottles of chardonnay. No one was asked whether they wanted to taste the wine and this mistake was only realised after a few glasses had been poured out. When my mother complained at the restaurant 's error the staff refused to do anything to address it. So in summary Cafe Kirkeladen is a small, pretty and cosy restaurant that is worth a visit, but don 't expect to be blown away by the food and the service.

I think they were busy because it took forever to get our order. But it was worth the wait. Especially sitting outside in the cozy garden.

Excellent food in beautiful surroundings, both out and inside. Good classic Danish dishes. Ready a visit worth. Good and friendly service.

We got delicious mix salad with chicken- really delicious with freshly baked bread. I chose a Nybro applemost with rabarber. It could almost be enjoyed alone It all served in cozy surroundings of pleasant staff. The place also has a nice history. We once again say thanks for food and we are seen again.
