Heritage Kitchen - Kerrville

Food was fresh and good, but was not good enough to make Heritage Kitchen a regular dinner spot for me. Both salads were not tossed with the dressing. A small amount of dressing was added on top and the diner had to toss to get dressing distributed throughout. Principal taste in shrimp and grits I think was chili powder? It wasn't Cajun or the Carolina low country styles, I love. Shrimp served in the sauce with tails on but there was no side plate to put them on when you removed them. The place has potential, but not that evening. Very limited wine list. Supporting the Texas wine industry is a great move, but they were out of several of the selections.

It was a slow Saturday night. The food was quite good. The waiter was pleasant, but somewhat slow. He emphasized this by apologizing every time he approached.

This was the second time we have been there. The food was actually better the first time we went- in fact my steak was amazing that visit. However, this time they mixed up our steaks. My boyfriend got the medium cooked one, while I got his medium rare. Since we both ordered the same cut (except he did a larger steak) we just switched plates. I had asked for brussel sprouts instead of potatoes, but my order came out with potatoes. They did make it right and correct the error. I think they were short staffed, because it took much longer this time. I would still go back, as the food is good, they maybe just had a bad night!

First visit. Brunch on Sunday. 3 of us. Hummus appetizer came out at same time as entree. The flat bread had an identity crisis- part of each piece was very hard and part was soft. The hummus flavor was excellent and the flat bread was tasty and seasoned well but the texture was the only issue. Steak and feta salad was very tasty but short on feta. The breakfast sandwich was excellent. The breakfast potatoes were a bit on the soggy side. Chorizo and potatoes were very good. One suggestion for brunch would be to offer orange juice and maybe even mimosas. The restaurant looks awesome on the inside, very clean and modern and comfortable. Greeter at front very friendly. Chandler our server was very nice. Will be coming back for an evening meal in the near future!
