It was pouring rain outside, and they simply told me they didn’t have a box tall enough for a two-tier cake. They shrugged and sent me on my way. I think that if you're spending over $300 on a cake, there should be a proper box provided for transport. As a result, my cake ended up getting rained on during my long walk to the car, which has limited parking options. Nonetheless, the cake was very tasty. I guess it’s best to bring your own box!
