Sister location to its more famous bigger sibling, Brewery Vivant, holds a gem of a restaurant. If you are a beer fan, you have probably seen the colorful cans of Broadleaf at your local supermarket. Specializing in unique and more adventurous flavors, Broadleaf is worth driving down and ordering off the tap. They have a constantly rotating selection of beers that keep continual visits interesting and fun. Now, for the food. Similar to their drinks, Broadleaf enjoys rotating out their food menu. I do not think they have any staples and instead favor keeping things new every month. Not tied down to any style, you can find Asian, Latin, and American cuisine (or whatever they feel like trying out) all intermingling on the menu. Because of this, for vegan food, it can be hit or miss. There is never a time that I have visited Broadleaf that I did not have an option on the menu, and I am very grateful for that. That being said, the choices are often made for me when there is only one vegan option. Thankfully, there are a wider scope of vegetarian options (and often have the ability to be made vegan through customization). The atmosphere itself is reminiscent of a hipster millennial's idea of a beer hall. There are big, long bench tables to sit at and many arcade games to try out while you await your beer. Recently, Broadleaf has been successful in catering to more family audiences with strong pushes from their social media ad campaign. For many, this is a big plus. And I respect that. However, for me, it is unfortunately a deterrent. The past three times I have visited Broadleaf, I ended up leaving as soon as I entered after seeing every seat taken, many with children under the drinking age. I am happy Broadleaf is finding its market; however, it does feel like the adult crowd is not as catered towards as it once was. All that being said, I am a fan of Broadleaf and have always enjoyed my stay when I can find a seat.
More beautiful place to go. bee galore and cocktails are also not so bad! eating was amazing, but creepy. the only grip over the place is for a brewery there is a filling of children (at least a round lunch?)
I had the opportunity to visit this restaurant in Grand Rapids. I ordered a chicken basket for myself and a flight of beer for my child. The food was hot and delicious. My child enjoyed the chicken strips and fries. I also tried them and found them to be quite tasty. The beer options were diverse and catered to all preferences. Overall, I believe Broad Leaf has something for everyone. I couldn't find anything negative to say about the menu options. I think everyone would be able to find something they enjoy, whether it be food or drinks.
I had a great experience at Bojoman's Steak Court, but my Drunk Noodles were disappointing. The mild flavor option resulted in a lack of taste, and there was no warning given when ordering. I had to rely on my partner's sauce to add flavor to my dish. The cocktail I ordered tasted watery and sour. The atmosphere was lively, with a unique option to order everything at the bar. I appreciated the cool braille on the cans. Overall, a mixed experience with some hits and misses.
I love this place! The beer is fantastic and the staff is friendly. The only downside was that they didn't have my size in the zip hoodie I wanted. But on the plus side, they still had a great selection of beers! Thank you, BLB!
