The ambiance was pleasant, with background music adding to the atmosphere. The portions were generous and the food was delicious. A shout out to Alex for providing excellent service. She was very accommodating and made sure we were well taken care of.
The staff, service, and afternoon tea were lovely. However, the room lacked atmosphere and felt soulless. The rest of the hotel is luxurious and a pleasure to visit, but this particular room had poor lighting and unappealing decorations. Despite this, the staff and dining experience were exceptional. I would still recommend visiting in the afternoon.
The afternoon tea for two at Bentley costs £50 with a deal, while the regular price is £40 each. The service at Bentley is excellent and the ambiance is lovely. The champagne served was crisp and delicious. However, the tea selection was unimpressive and seemed a bit stale. The savory sandwiches were fresh and tasty, but there were only four fingers sandwiches per person. The mini cakes, such as lemon cake and brownies, were dry, possibly due to sitting out for too long since our booking was at 4pm. The scones were disappointing as they seemed to have been overcooked in the microwave, resulting in a tough texture. Overall, the experience was underwhelming. I would recommend trying the tapas afternoon tea at Map Maison instead, as it far surpassed the experience at Bentley.
We started our meal with delicious canapes of Beef ragu saffron arancini and Tomato bruschetta. For starters, options included Goat's cheese tortellini soup, Loch Fyne scallops, and Super Food Salad. The scallops were beautifully prepared with celeriac, apple, and hazelnuts, while the Salad featured quinoa, beetroot, feta cheese, and broccoli. Both dishes were flavorful and set a great tone for the rest of our meal. For our main courses, my guest chose the Stuffed chicken breast with tomatoes, potatoes, spinach, and a tomato jus. I opted for the perfectly cooked Salmon fillet accompanied by leeks, new potatoes, and spinach. The Mushroom ravioli was also available as a vegetarian option. Our desserts, Chocolate mousse with salted caramel ice cream and Apple tart with strawberries, ice cream, and shortbread, were the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. The quality of the food, the inviting ambiance, and the attentive service all contributed to making our dining experience at Peridot truly exceptional.
Visited here with a deal of afternoon tea and a glass of Prosecco on a weekday and the ambience was pleasant. Spacious restaurant with tables well spaced out. Service was friendly and attentive. We had a selection of sandwiches, hot scones with the cream and jam, macaroons and a sort of Battenberg cakes. We each had a big pot of our chosen tea and a refill was asked for.Apart from the prosecco which was not very chilled and appeared rather flat, we had a very relaxing time.
