We ordered an espresso and a cappuccino, and the manager suggested we try 2 slices of carrot cake. After a quick chat, he invited me to try another guest's cappuccino... it was amazing! The best cappuccino I have ever had - smooth and creamy. I took my time to savor every sip, and when the bill came, I went back to thank the manager with a handshake.
This place is my go-to spot to relax, have a cup of coffee, and get some work done all in one place. I love the decor, and I think it's classy that the owner changes the artwork from local artists that they like.
It was quiet but the staff completely ignored us when ordering and paying, even when I was stood in front of them at the empty counter. Milkshakes for our children were very poorly made and small for £4.50 each. I tried to talk to the staff but no response from either of them. It's a nice location, but there are some much better cafes around the market.
It looked really cute from the outside a nice quiet haven from the crush of tourists on a Sat for Portobello market. But the service was loopy (didn't seem to understand our orders) and the pastries almost inedible. They were hard and dry, as if they were day old, but certainly not priced that way (L 4.50 for a single pastry). I definitely would not go here again.
