Mars Cheese Castle - Kenosha

If you've driven from Chicago to Milwaukee, you've surely spotted the signs for the Mars Cheese Castle with its iconic façade. It may seem like a tourist trap at first, but think again. There’s no need to dismiss it as a gimmick. The Cheese Castle is a true haven for cheese lovers and offers everything you can imagine that pairs with cheese. The staff provide exceptional service, making you feel like royalty. Whether you want to indulge your taste buds right away, you can enjoy the tavern or snack bar, both serving delicious bites. And of course, you can also grab a drink. The interior matches the grandeur of the exterior, making you feel like a king or queen, depending on your own vibe.

Such a great place to stop by. There are so many different types of cheeses and meat. There are also a lot of different other items from crackers, syrups, honey, candy, and home items. These are things that are not just local but also from overseas. There is a kitchen here with absolutely amazing food. I had the grilled cheese sandwich with German potato salad, a bowl of chili, and melt in your mouth cheese curds. There is also a bakery with yummy dessert items and different breads. I just loved stopping here and hopefully will be able to come back soon.

It was great to return to this restaurant. They have a fantastic selection of cheeses, along with sandwiches, a bar, and desserts. I especially enjoyed the wild corn growing in the parking lot. I picked up a 15-year-old cheddar, which is excellent at room temperature and has a wonderfully rich flavor. Visiting here is always a delightful experience.

The restaurant had reasonable prices and offered a variety of baked goods, although they could have been more impressive. The atmosphere was charming, but some items felt a bit pricey. We tried the cheese curds, but we were disappointed that they lacked a strong aroma. Overall, it was still an enjoyable experience.

I've been over here since the 1980s and hadn't stopped since I was little. the new building is beautiful and a great look. the layout is the same with all the cheese to the right when they go, then different sections with drinks (alcohol and alcohol-free), a bakery, restaurant, bar and a part of the souvenirs. also they have rehearsals of the cheese hexe really nice because they have such a variety, it is hard to know if they like them. my wife actually bought a vanilla flavor cheese because of the rehearsal table. Finally, there are several check-out lanes so that the wait in line is minimal and the staff is super friendly. will be back!
