The outer deck looks out over the water The food is fantastic(Walleye, Beef Dip). It is definitely, old, rustic and unique. One of the few places to eat in the evening.
When I first walked in, I was really surprised by this place. The carpet needs to be replaced BADLY, but if you can get past it, your experience will make you forget about the carpet. It's a great log cabin look with dollar bills all through the ceiling. You could read the ceiling for hours! The customers are encouraged to write something on a dollar bill and claim their space of fame..love it! There are 70 year old pictures throughout the bar of the area and there is some really awesome history here. The staff are seriously friendly and like to chat (If you don't want to chat, they won't bother you, they are just really small town friendly!). Now let's get to the food. I had a veggie quesadilla. It was really good and had a lot of peppers and tomatoes in it. Perfect amount of cheese. Since I was there with my friends...Well, the Beef Dip is seriously home made. You should see the amount of food you get with that order. And if you order nachos, you'll have enough for the next day. The nachos are awesomely loaded...Just not on the top. Best onion rings around! :) I liked it so much I went back again the next week. They close in October and open in April, so you'll have to wait, but it's worth it! I'm looking forward to going back in the spring for an order of nachos.
What a pleasant surprise! After a long day on the road we came upon Green's. As noted by others it is essentially a log cabin full of a variety of hunting and fishing trophies. The menu is quite extensive but the highlight is their walleye/pickerel. Prices are reasonable and servings are very generous. Unfortunately Green's is only open in the summer/fall. Well worth a visit!
When you get off the lake and would like to relax and have a drink and some camaraderie, this is one of the few spots around Nestor Falls where you can go. Just an OK place, with good food.
There's not much to stop for along this road, so we stopped here. Inside, a large room, all wood logs everywhere: walls, tables, chairs... US dollar bills signed or decorated covered a lot of the ceiling. The counter/bar has old pictures (late 1800s even!) of people with BIG fish they caught. Lots of weird stuff, like a "Three Stooges" movie poster on the wall. And lots of stuffed critters perched in various spots around the room: raccoon, eagle, various really BIG fish, even a fox or some kind of bob-cattish creature. There are lamps hanging from the ceiling with antlers, and there's a pool table. Out back is a deck with several tables overlooking Lake of the Woods. Fantastic view! My husband had a hot turkey sandwich and I had chicken BLT. SUPER good and REAL meat! Mounds of fries came with it. Crispy and dark, the way I like them best, but no way I could finish them. K finished his, but could not manage mine, too. What a great find! Friendly service and very reasonable prices.
