The Stone Barn - KENNETT SQUARE

Has to be the most beautiful location in Chester County, and everyone there is as nice and pleasant as can be. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Salmon fillet was big, thick in the middle, yet it was perfectly done and absolutely delicious. The shrimp tacos were also wonderful. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

I selected Foxfire from doing a search for farm to table. It was a wonderful choice! Beautiful setting, good food and good service. We were there on a Sunday night and there were 2 weddings happening inside, so the noise level was probably louder than usual, but it was not obnoxiously loud. We ate outside, the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff was very nice accomodating. We will definitley visit again.

Fabulous location and great food. However, our experience was spoiled because of the incredibly rude woman at the hostess desk. Rolled eyes and a lengthy chastisement because we had the audacity to have a 4th person show up when the reservation was for 3 people. Restaurant was not even half full and the table was a 4 top regardless of 3 or 4 guests, so........ After her dressing us down for the infraction, there was a sizable piece of eggshell in my benny. Coincidence, or retribution?

Lovely dining place. We had a nice meal. We will return and try different entrees. I ordered the duck breast. Could have requested a wee bit more cooked. The risotto was gummy but good. Cheese plate only had 2 cheeses and some rather greasy meats. The lobster Mac and cheese was a big hit for my husband.

Dinner for two on the patio. Beautiful late spring evening. Atmosphere was pleasant, inside of restaurant appeared nice as well. Run down on dishes: Lobster bisque Grade C, at best. Salty, with a small piece of lobster in the center and nothing else in the soup. Avoid this. Barbecue Chicken flatbread Grade B. Pretty good, large size. Compares well to other restaurants. PEI steamed mussels Grade A . Tender, tasty. Compares well. No tiny seafood fork and you have to request drawn butter, but worth ordering if you like mussels. Strawberry watercress salad Grade B, Small, somewhat average taste. But decent and fresh. Half Rack of Lamb Grade A . Good, and comes with three sauces. My companion enjoyed this. Chocolate cake dessert Grade B+. Ordered with vanilla ice creme. Pretty good, fair portion. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere for dates as well as families, in a beautiful setting. A bit pricey, but overall good quality. I'd go back to try other dishes, as the satisfaction of the ones we had was uneven. Service was average. Very pleasant, but not as knowledgeable about the dishes as expected, and needed to be a bit more attentive. Three stars. Worth trying, if only for the atmosphere and quality of some dishes.
