Bagel Express - Kendall

I had a negative experience on Jan 21 at 10:20 AM. I extended the usual pleasantries and in return I received racial bias undertones when conversing with the boy taking my order. I entered and was curious about the lox bagel and the boy replied with “yeah we have lox bagels but it’s a little pricey“ to that response I ordered the lox bagel anyway. I came in the establishment with wallet in hand so he should not have assumed that I could not afford simple and plain bagel sandwich. And I could CLEARLY SEE THE PRICES ON THE BOARD, meaning he didnt have to make that comment. I preferred to remove the coleslaw and pickle sides on that lox order, and he proceeded to tell me that it “removing the sides wont lessen the price”. Now I kept it pleasant but this is a review to let all of the melanated folks know that this is not a brown folk friendly place. Of course I didn’t leave a tip on that bill but my tip to the owner would be to train your staff to be more culturally unbiased and respectful towards all customers. R/E the lox bagel… i’ve tasted better.

The owner responded to my Google review by belittling my experience and the content of that response proves my point. The micro-aggressions were real! R/E the lox bagel... i 've tasted better.

I’ve lived here my whole life, and I’ve never noticed this little shop, definitely a hole in the wall mom and pop vibe. I ordered an everything bagel and cream cheese with a cheese omelette and honestly it’s been some of the best breakfast I’ve had in such a long time. Very simple yet flavorful. The bagels are top-tier and there’s quite a selection of bagels to pick from. Very affordable as well compared to places now a days. Service was quick and to the point. Very delicious and will definitely be back.

If you looking for the NY bagel style this is it!!!They make their own cream cheese which is very good. You find a variety of bagels. Also there is indoor and outdoor sitting area. Highly recommended!!!
