We drove 30 minutes from düsseldorf to find this charming cafe/shop/farm/art gallery/antiquity shop in the haus bockdorf. the food is not only homemade, but most of it is homemade absolutely delicious! it was by far the highlight of our whole trip to düsseldorf. not...only it is in the beautiful landscape, but after our meal we visited their special business with not only a lot of their homemade juices, jams, meats and specialties, but wonderful things for the house and to wear. we bought all our gifts here home and are happy about them! there is also an art gallery, an antique shop, and when they come on the right day, they even have whisky tasting. we loved walking around and seeing their beautiful animals and being in nature. I can't recommend this place very much. this was the Germany that we hoped to experience much more than the modern cities near.
It's a small castle in the middle of nowhere :) Very charming place. There is a souvenir shop where you can buy woolen products, cheese and meet - all home made and bio. Lovely place to visit
We drove 30 minutes out of Dusseldorf to find this enchanting café/shop/farm/art gallery/antique store at Haus Bockdorf. The food is not only homemade but most of it is home-grown - absolutely delicious!! It was by far the highlight of our whole trip to Dusseldorf... not only is it in the beautiful countryside, but after our meal we visited their specialty store with not only lots of their homemade juices, jams, meats, and specialties but gorgeous things for the home and to wear. We ended up buying all of our gifts to take home here and are delighted with them! There's also an art gallery, an antique store, and if you come on the right day, they even have whiskey tastings. We loved walking around and seeing their beautiful animals and being out in nature. I can't recommend this place highly enough. This was the Germany that we were hoping to experience - much more so than the modern cities nearby.
An idyllic but at the same time also a little positive “satisfactory” Good...unexpected on an inconspicuous/classic country or Fast Road in Kempen. Large, old and well preserved farm. Farming business with organic vegetables and products from own production/leeping food and non-food. Nice, helpful staff. The Lord is mad, but a little stubborn. A bit like a miniature à la Batman Mansion, but unfortunately without access to the public... this is okay, but it has already been interested in me how it looks inside: guided tours can be booked via the connected “Animal Park”.
