One - Kelowna

Ordered off of Skip the Dishes. My girlfriend and I had had a long day and we’re hoping to have skip the dishes arrive shortly after we got home. We ordered pot stickers, buffalo chicken sandwich and wings because I had a craving for wings. The food arrived in good time and it all looked delicious... Unfortunately looks can be deceiving... the quality of the wings were poor. Don’t get me wrong, the flavour is delicious, which made it hurt all the more because I couldn’t actually finish eating the wings. The meat should fall off the bone, instead it was just falling apart. The buffalo chicken sandwich was up next and I had high hopes of it being the redeeming dish of our meal. Unfortunately,once again I was disappointed.. the size of the chicken didn’t even cover the size of the bun. I must also add that the bun used felt like a bun bought from the dollar store. Overall the sandwich was like a very small piece of chicken between two sponges. Again, I’ll say that the flavour and cooks are not the problem. Lastly the potstickers. I’ve see. Many people complain about the size of the potstickers. I had no problem with the size and I will say that I did enjoy them. However ten dollars for five small potstickers doesn’t feel like I’m getting what I’m paying for. So overall, I’m giving 3 stars because I don’t think that the menu, cooks, or service have any problems. I think that what’s bringing down Bar One is a lack off quality ingredients and pricing that reflects the quality and portions of their dishes. Oh, PS. The fries were bomb!

We were staying in the hotel here and I came down with a cup to ask for a cup of soda water, and the bartender wouldn 't do it unless I paid 3.50 plus tax because it 's the same as pop, it 's not free . I 've worked in hotel bars and would never in a million years not give a guest a small cup of soda water, basically free product. Imagine being so concerned with an almost intangible amount of c02 that you 're going to send a guest away embarrassed because you just lectured him in front of other patrons. I get that I was asking a small favour. Almost.. The smallest favour imagineable. And I 'm a hotel guest, and it 's a hotel bar. But yeah just couldn 't do it. I do understand that if you say yes to one guest who has their own cup and asks super politely for a small amount of soda water, then you 're going to have to do it for ALL GUESTS, which will now open the floodgates to all the other 2 or maybe 1 guests per year who also ask politely for a soda water. And now this hotel bar is flying through c02 and can 't figure out where the product is all going and there 's investigations and staff are being fired and etc etc. Anyway good for you, you saved your boss zero dollars and we decided to go spend our 70 or whatever bucks on dinner somewhere else that night because as if we are spending it somewhere that can 't spare a two second press of soda for a hotel guest.
