Boomers Bar and Grill - Kelowna

Don't often think about going to Boomer's unless it is for wing night on TUESDAY. $5 if you buy a beverage. Friends recommended it. They have battered wings that are crispier than the typical wings. You can always find a place to sit. Servers are friendly. I can't really say it has ambience as it is a concrete block adjacent to a hockey/skating rink. There are TV's of course.

The servers at this restaurant were very busy and efficient, and they would be the main reason why I would consider returning to try more of the food here. Unfortunately, the burger I ordered was not very good - it tasted processed and the bacon was undercooked. The restaurant has a lot of TVs and the prices are relatively low. However, they do not offer craft beers and the menu and food quality remind me of a bygone era from the 80s and 90s. If a pub can't make a good burger, it's not a good sign for me. The overall taste is similar to other casual dining chains like Canadian Brewhouse and Kelly O'Bryan's. If I do decide to give this place another chance, I will probably just stick to a safe option like salad or soup. The three servers working on Friday evening were the only thing that kept the place running smoothly.

Game 6 was great to watch here. Lots of tvs and the feel of a sports bar. It was wing night & everything was tasty though we weren't fans of the garlic parmesan flavour. The salt & pepper & Jamaican jerk were yummy. Bartender Chaz was great and our server Tracy was friendly.

Went on a Wednesday for wings to discover that Wing Night is on Tuesday and Wednesday is Taco night. Our table of six ordered off the menu instead. Four burgers, a wrap and pork schnitzel. It's $1 for every extra. Food was fairly tasteless except the burger patties. The Schnitzel was cardboard with tomato sauce on it. Fries weren't too bad, ceasar salad very boring as was the Mediterranean Quinoa wrap. Service was horrible for 3 waitress and 6 tables full. Wandered by the kitchen on the way to the bathroom and all 3 waitresses were sitting with their feet up playing on their phones. Took 15 minutes for our drinks and refill orders to arrive, one person never received the extra condiments they requested. And they want a 15 % tip for that???

Went there last night after almost a year of staying away. Service was awesome! Helps when you hire people who know what they're doing. Food is still average but now serving Tree beer on tap...perfect!
