Lovely little place, nice customer service however food was average. We ordered take away on 31 Dec New years eve) We had rather big order of 3 veg spring rolls, 4 mains and some extras. Spring Rolls were soggy and smell of oil that was due to change, Rice was overcooked and not fried as I ordered egg was just added to it and mixed) , Beef curry 1/3 was onions and cheap watered down curry sauce however beef itself nice and tender. Chicken Chow Mein had more noodles than meat and beans and vegies all together. it wasn't really chicken chow mein as per say. Dinner was saved by chicken sweet and sour and extra chicken balls I ordered with sauce. chips were nicely cooked but smelled with oil too much. Thank you for gifting my family with 2021 calendar.
Very friendly , hardworking staff. Decor very simple but the food is very good. We went in the evening so the restaurant was very quiet. Will definately go again.
If I were to tell ye I'd found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, you'd likely think I'd had one too many pints of the black stuff. But hold your horses, because the real treasure was the grub at Ginban Chinese Takeaway right here in Kells! I sauntered in with a hunger fierce enough to scare a banshee and ordered up the Japanese chicken curry with an extra kick of spice. By the saints, it was as if they'd caught a leprechaun and made him do a jig right there in the curry pot! The heat in that dish could've warmed the cockles of a stone, and the flavor danced on the tongue like a Riverdance troupe! Then came the chicken pineapple with fried rice, a dish that had me wondering if the chefs had a wee bit of that magical Irish charm. The pineapple chunks were as juicy as a gossip in a small town, and the chicken was so tender, I reckon even the wee folk would've traded in their pots of gold for just a taste. The service was quicker than a hare at a greyhound track, and the staff were so cheerful, you'd think they'd just found a four-leaf clover on their break. So, if you're wandering around Kells with a belly growling like a grumpy old leprechaun, drop by Ginban Chinese Takeaway. You'll leave with a smile wider than the Shannon and a belly as full as a Dublin pub on St. Paddy's Day!
Fantastic restaurant, great food and the staff are lovely and great to chat with. Only chinese that we would ever eat from in the area.
