The pastry on both pasties was light and flaky and the fillings tasty. For us, the coffees could have been stronger, but were fine. That's just our preference. The young man who served us was polite and friendly. We'd stop in again.
We made a pit stop in Keith for lunch while traveling from Adelaide to Mount Gambier. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with the quality of the pastries. The pies were tough and didn't have much filling, indicating that they may have been sitting in the warmer for too long. We decided to skip the coffee as well. Overall, this was a letdown considering the typically high quality of bakeries in South Australia.
I have never been to a bakery where there was so little food to choose from. Even though a tray of fresh food was brought out to restock what was in the pie warmer, this was cool, and therefore barely eatable. We only discovered this after we had left the bakery with our food, going to the playground to eat it whilst the children had some free time!
We were hungry for some breakfast on our travels to Mt Gambier. Not always easy for me to find a vegan meal on the road so I tend to look for wholesome vegetarian. The Cornish pastie was fresh and filled with heaps of vegetables. So good I wished I’d bought two! Coffee was good. Service great! Will stop here again.
Service is still rude, bacon and egg rolls tasteless and very expensive. Definitely will not go back. Will go and try the other bakery in town.
