Hunan's - Kearney

Beth and I visited the lunch buffet today. It had been a while since our last visit. Maybe it was just our imagination, but there was a different smell in the air as we entered, and all the food had a slightly "off" taste, almost reminiscent of a dirty dishrag. We noticed this in nearly every bite. We don't plan on returning for quite some time, and perhaps this is the reason we've stayed away for nearly a year.

Normally, at a buffet, I can find something that I enjoy, but we ended up trying one unsatisfactory dish after another. As our table filled up with plates of uneaten food, the waiter just stood there glaring at us instead of clearing the mess away. We tried to salvage our $14.95 per person meal with some soda and dessert, but the desserts were equally disappointing—processed brownies and cream puffs that lacked flavor. A trip to the restrooms further solidified my negative impression. It's baffling how this place has declined so much. I don’t think I’ll be returning!

This is no longer the go-to restaurant Kearney once knew. Since the change in ownership, the food is completely different from what it used to be, and the buffet prices have doubled. The only thing they managed to achieve well is tarnishing the reputation of Kearney's best dining spots.

Compared to its original ownership, this restaurant has really lost its charm. It has changed hands so many times that the classic recipes have disappeared, and the new menu offers nothing more than generic food you might find in a mall food court. It's disappointing to witness the decline of what was once the best Chinese restaurant in town.

I visited the restaurant with my boyfriend today for the first time. He used to come here often as a kid and always raved about it, but since there are new owners, he was uncertain about whether it would still be good. We decided to try the buffet, but unfortunately, the food was quite bland and not very tasty. It appeared to have been sitting out for a long time and wasn't very well stocked either. We spent $33 on food that seemed old and lacked flavor. The only thing I enjoyed was the soda. To top it off, I ended up getting food poisoning! I highly recommend avoiding this place!!!
