We got there and they only had domestic beer. I get the feeling from other reviews this is common, and perhaps a way to bring people in. But I don’t want to try beers from other countries when here in Nepal, do not too big of a deal. It costs $10 USD for two beers; that’s airport pricing. A tad on the high side, when the same 24 oz cans would be $3-4 in US. Also, I love to try lots of beers at home and the amount the beers foamed when pouring led me to believe they walked across the street to buy these beers and marked the price up. Beer doesn’t foam like it did when poured correctly, unless it’s been shaken-hence why I believe they went to buy it; that and we waited minimum 10 minutes for our beer after ordering;we were the only people there and the staff disappeared for a bit. What beer garden doesn’t have beer?
I'd love to give this a higher rating. It's a cool location and the staff are great BUT they handed me a beer menu with around thirty beers on it, THEN, after I selected my beer of choice (an IPA), they informed me that everything except the Nepalese beers were out of stock. Could have let me know at the start guys. Anyway, maybe you could have better luck. Check it out, just in case.
In a little alley. A bit hard to find unless you know what to look for, which means that it does not overrun with too many people. Has a quiet little garden, and they do not play music, so it is a fantastic escape from the dusty streets or loud bars of Thames. Wide range of beer for local standards and reasonable prices. Can't comment on food as I don't order. The only cave is that they close at 9:40.
I was regularly at my stay in Kathmandu. Staff are incredibly friendly and great to chat. In general, Nepal is one of the most friendly places I visited. Beautiful beer selection too!
Beautiful indoor and outdoor beer and coffee garden directly in Thamel. Wide range of bottle imports from all over the world. Nuff said.
