Newari Kitchen - Kathmandu

Such a nice place. It’s cuisine of local nation Newari. Good atmosphere, soft and muffled light, tasty food. I can suggest yomari-Chaka for dessert, it’s like a dumpling with sesame and something like chocolate. Also good newari set meal, many small dishes are here. Can take common liquors as well as common tea.

An awesome afternoon spent here tasting typical newari meat dishes including goats lungs, buffalo tongue and bone marrow!! Service was great. Ambience perfect. My favourite aloo dish posted!

Incredible restaurant with such a selection of Nepalese cuisine. Meat eaters and vegetarians find many possibilities, and even if you are not familiar with Nepalese cuisine, the staff are really nice and will explain the menu. I recommend a set menu so you can try a number of different dishes. I have her Nepalese veg, and my friend got her Newari meat that comes with buffalo and chicken options. The difference between Nepali and Newari is light, usually different with spices and different vegetable choices. They have two types of rice, one is a flat crunchy rice and the other is regularly steamed white rice. The crispy rice is great, you can ask for a sample if you are unsure. But the dishes mixed with the crispy rice are delectable. You have a nice selection of wines. You can take the bottle home if you don't finish it. Price very decent for the beautiful restaurant.

IMPORT - It does not eat, only deliveries / take away. The owners were so friendly when they saw me starving at their gate, they prepared one of the best meals I ever had in Nepal. Definitely Newari food is it a must when you visit this country and among all the restaurants I tried that was the best!! Very recommended

I like the place. The peach tea is great. I highly recommend you try. Moreover the ambience is scheduled but also cozy. The wooden tables and comfy orange cushions makes you feel homelike. The service is nice and they are friendly as well. The place is well maintained and clean. The price is affordable. For this place- Service- 4/5 Ambience- 5/5 Food- 4/5 View- 3/5 Overall I give this place a solid 4/5 star. I'll definitely be back here for more.
