The meat was dry and had the tenderness of fresh military boot.I'm surprised they can still fill a restaurant with the food they serve.. however there only saving grace is that there is no other decent Restaurants in town.I would not recommend people paying good money for this food if you're craving a steak. Go to the butchers and cook your own.Once again though the wait staff were delightful.
We were they with family for dinner after we visiting the Katherine George. We had a nice greeting from a German waiter. But it took long to someone took our order, also we waited very long for our main meal. The Battered fish and the special veal schnitzel was good and enough for the price. I eat a Indian green curry there were only 6 pieces of chicken in it for $30 to expensive.
We ate here one night. The steak was over cooked and tough. It was the chefs recommendation. Looks better in the photos. It's very expensive. I thought you haven't eat barramundi till you have been to the Territory. Don't hold your breath. It's nicer and cheaper in Sydney.
When you choose the most expensive restaurant in town, you expect more than we encountered. We booked in person during the day and were told that all inside tables were full but we could be seated in the outdoor area. Fine, we thought. Unfortunately the person who took our booking failed to mention that the outside dining area was monopolised by several TV screens and on this night, a rugby game was being broadcast LOUDLY. IF we had chosen a pub we would have expected this but not in what is supposed to be the best restaurant in town. Service was non existent, it took 15 mins for us to receive our first drinks. I would have liked to have ordered a wine with my meal but the wait staff were doing a good job of avoiding taking orders. A waiter actually dumped a dirty plate from another table on ours at one stage and when he came back to retrieve it, ignored our own dirty dishes, our entree plates remained on the table for the entire meal, even when the waiter delivered our mains. The one pleasant part of the evening was the spring rolls entree. The barramundi main was overcooked to the point of being mushy. The 'twice cooked pork belly' was a ridiculously huge lump of rolled pork with a few sad limp strands of asparagus. We gave up and decided we couldn't face dessert. All this for $100, without even an alcoholic drink!
The Savannah Restaurant serves delicious, colourful and unusual food combinations. It has excellent gluten-free options. The chicken and chorizo terrine was amazing. The restaurant has the most comfortable chairs and the decor is cool and sophisticated. A really great place to eat near Euston Station.
