Primo Fito - Karuizawa

Fine vegan food is hard to come, but it definitely delivers and more. I enjoyed my vegan gozen dinner consisting of antipasto and pasta plus optional main supplement, while my non vegan man enjoyed his own gozens.

As one of the only places in Karuizawa that offer vegan options, it fills it's role but definitely 't meets the standards we expect. We ordered a course menu with five small starters, a Lasagne Main and a Dessert. All appetizers were cold, which was not ideal in winter. Taste was not bad at all, but not something I would order again, and there was a shocking variation of quality between every starter. The lasange was pretty with vegan cheese and a light sauce, but it was still frozen in parts and was smaller than the palm of my hand and dessert was an inedible cold oat jelly or brulé as explained. The staff was very nice and the atmosphere was very elegant and relaxed. I don't give any criticisms, let alone bad, but I really think there's plenty of room for improvement in this facility.

A reasonable price for a real vegan Italian. The taste was beautiful and professional.
