This was formerly called Shyams but now it's being called by a different name as the original Marwari owner is running the place. Located just at the start of the Dow Hill Road this structure of no great significance is located conviniently by the road side to offer fellow travellers tea and snacks .Of course the fare is vegetarian. The lodging is adequate and suitable for parents of the students of boarding schools in and around Kurseong town.
While traveling from Bagdogra Airport to Makai Bari tea garden in Kurseong Kharsang, we enjoyed a picturesque view of the foothills of the Himalayas. The Kurseong Railway Station, where the famous Darjeeling toy train stops, holds historical significance. The area is populated with beautiful people and pleasant joints. The British hill buildings and complexes add to the charm of the surroundings. Aastha Hotel is a great place to enjoy a cup of tea or sample some local cuisine.
This restaurant is located very close to Kurseong Railway station, offering an excellent view of toy trains passing by. The food is delicious and reasonably priced.
Somehow didn't like the place much, although I can't exactly say what is it which turned me off.Probably the atmosphere, or the smell of vegetable oil..so just had a cup of tea and left!!!
