A piece of South America in Karlsruhe! A true treasure as the name El Tesoro says. Unfortunately, the El Tesoro is open only on Friday and Saturday. Friday and Saturday 10 am 3 pm and Friday evening 6 pm But still you should go. Here is the South American breakfast on Saturday! or also lunch (which likes to swim over time). Everything very tasty and freshly prepared for us Germans that you must have patience, just like in the home country these dishes too! Here everything is authentic: There are also very tasty cafés and delicious juices. There are a few small tables, but you usually find some room. Everything is very lovingly arranged and it always runs Latin music. In addition to gastronomy, there are also ingredients and foods from South American cuisine to buy some also in organic quality. Gorgeous chocolate, mate tea in various variants, rum, jams etc. Really nice, not cheap and very tasty. Here you will always find good gifts, especially for South America lovers. Just look at the El Tesoro is worth a visit.
Very nice ambience and a very rich selection of foods and small artworks as well as books and gifts! There is also a table on Friday and Saturday, as well as readings and concerts, for example for breakfast on Sunday
Slightly far from center (even though I was a tourist with any previous knowledge about the city) but easily reachable either by public transportation and also on foot. It is a nice and fresh place. Service was fast and very kind, delicious dishes (particularly -as...latin american- I would like more options, but it's very representative). They also sell many latin american products (rum, beer, dulce de leche, corn flour, etc I went there for lunch, but apparently on fridays night they have more food options, live music, and so on.. maybe next time
We followed the first TripAdvisor rating of el tesoro and were not disappointed. It is a small, pacious restaurant with about 20 places. many South American details hang on the walls - it looks cozy and friendly. There is not a large selection of diners - burrito, empanadas. chilli con o sin carne, tamal latino ... and tapas when the chefin is there. With our selection we were very satisfied, it was appealing and tasted us. suitable for this we tried different South American beers. We felt very comfortable and will therefore definitely go back - perhaps to the Saturday breakfast or a concert evening - and try the tapas when the chefin is there);- with el tesero you can also buy a small selection of South American food and drink, as well as cds with Latin American music.
