The adults ordered barramundi and a Mexican hamburger, Both these meals were OK, the barra was salty, maybe frozen prior to cooking. The Mexican hamburger was spicy and the servings were large. The big disappointment was the child's meal. Chicken nuggets chips. The chicken nuggets were not good, the chicken was old a dark colour. My grand daughter tasted one but no more. The cafe was not crowded and the staff were not run off their feet and I hesitate to criticise a business during Covid but they must do better.
Mothers Day lunch was so disappointing 2 sessions 11.30 and 1.30 so booked the early one. Have to stand at counter to order and there was a very long line, nearly 30 minutes to order then another hour to get our food. The second session people were starting to line up outside before we'd finished eating. Only cafe in the area but avoid, was uncomfortable and cold on the verandah. A very limited and expensive menu for what we got. Came away feeling upset that our special lunch was such a disaster for my elderly mum, daughter in a wheelchair, 2 sons and husband as it was my idea to go out. Never again.
A quick 5 minute detour on your route north or south from or to Sydney sure beats the maxi servos. We enjoyed just iced coffee espresso a small bite, but the meals heading to other tables looked appetising. There is easy parking also a park opposite for the kids or pooch to run around. Also public toilets. The covered section really is for meals. We inveigled a table there as the front area is not covered and was **** hot.
Four of us had lunch, each dish was well presented and most enjoyable. We would definitely come back and recommend to friends and family. The only negative was the wine, we tried the Rose and the Chardonnay, both I'm afraid were very bland and did not complement the delicious food.
Best chocolate thick shakes and beautiful outlook. We stopped for morning tea, and immensely enjoyed our stop at the Waterfall cafe. Light, scrumptious scones, with lashings of cream, reviving coffee and decadent, thick thick-shakes. Service was friendly and quick. (Note: trip advisor says the cafe is shut; it’s definitely open!
