L&l Hawaiian Barbecue - Kapolei

The food is decent—not great, but not terrible either. It satisfies hunger when you need something to eat. Our order took a bit of time, but that’s fine with me as it was freshly prepared. The person who took our order was neutral; neither particularly friendly nor rude, just going through the motions. Overall, it's a pretty average experience.

It seems many reviews mention the staff member at the front, and it’s true—she is quite rude and disrespectful for no apparent reason. The food is good, but this location really needs to reconsider its front-of-house staff since many people have reported similar experiences with her poor customer service. The L&L in Kapolei Marketplace treats customers much better and would never behave like this. I only came here because it was closer to home, but I highly recommend choosing the L&L in Kapolei instead.

I ordered the beef stew served in a bowl. Unfortunately, the stew tasted artificial and overly sweet. The gravy lacked the rich, natural flavors you'd expect from beef. Additionally, the beef pieces were too large and tough, making them hard to chew. The gravy was overly thickened with starch, which made it look fake and unappealing. Overall, I found this dish to be quite disappointing.

A must visit on my trips to Hawaii. Classic plate lunch spot with consistent food. Macaroni salad is amazing, go with the chicken katsu or kalua pork and always get a spam musubi.

Food here is absolutely amazing! I went twice in a row because it was soooo good. I got the bbq mix plate and all three meats were so flavorful and moist. Would highly recommend going here.
