J's Fish And Chicken - Kansas City

I stay 2 block from Jays chicken, So I been eating there for years. It way amazing when they first open. And years after that. But because of new owners and management, And not putting quality food first. Jay’s chicken has went downhill tremendously. And the service is no better. In the last six months windows has been broken out and boarded up while still open daily. customers have complained on a regular basis. If you want to see drama go to Jay’s trick chicken. I have drove by there and wonder why the police are there on a regular basis, it’s because the way management treat customers. We have made Jay’s chicken of what it is but Jay’s chicken have changed a lot and that’s not for the good they just see a money pit in the black neighborhood. They are very disrespectful and it needs to stop. The food and the service both are terrible.

Great fish and fries. Pretty good chicken. Lost a star because the extra large shrimp were the size of a half dollar at best.Food: 5/5

Called to place order, ask about sides and was told to look online and was hung up on. Went in requested manager and manager just walked off when advised what happened. Will never go there againFood: 2/5

Fish was not the best today. It was cooked in old oil. By the time we got down the street to eat it the fish nuggets were hard and when we broke them in half you could barely see the fish. Took it back and the owner was mad that there were pieces missing. Those 2-3 pieces were thrown in the trash and were the ones we broke apart and even tasted one. Didn't want to give us a refund but eventually remade the order in fresh oil and it was much better.

I ordered chicken strips with a side of fish and bread. Food was GREAT and was cooked fresh and ready under 8 mins.The chicken tenders were nice and fat:)I enjoyed the seasonings that were put on the fish and chicken tenders as well!I will add J's to my list of places to grab a good bite to eat!
